Gissy Management is committed to making gissyfamily.com accessible to people of all abilities, regardless of the technology they use to access the web.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines describe how to make web content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

What we’ve implemented

• Semantic HTML throughout, with landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer) so screen reader users can navigate efficiently.
• A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page that becomes visible on keyboard focus.
• Color contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface controls.
• Keyboard accessibility — every interactive element on the site can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
• Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
• Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
• Form labels properly associated with inputs, with required fields marked both visually and programmatically.
• Responsive design that works at viewport widths down to 320 pixels.
• A heading hierarchy that follows the visual structure of each page.
• No autoplaying audio or video, and no flashing content.

We are a small team and we test what we can. If you find content on this site that does not meet the standard above, please tell us so we can fix it.

• A description of the problem
• The assistive technology you were using (e.g., screen reader, voice control, keyboard only)
